Traffic update as of January 2024:
Ship Hill has been closed by Thames Water for emergency main repairs. There is NO BUS into the village.
If you drive up Ship Hill, you will see signs saying ‘Road Closed’ at the junction of Ricketts Hill and Ship Hill and further ‘Road Closed’ signs up Ship Hill, but you can still drive up Ship Hill to the primary school, and park there as normal.
If you are coming from the other direction (Approach Road), you cannot come as far as the school car park, and would have to park in, and walk from, the village centre.
Alternatively, anyone intending to come along Approach Road should instead carry on down Clarks Lane, then turn left up Church Hill (very narrow!) and turn left at Ship Hill.
