David Preston

It is with great sadness that we learned of the death of David Preston last Monday night. David was one of the founders of the orchestra as well as our principal flute player and chairman. A supportive, enthusiastic and talented musician, he was a larger than life character who always found time to enjoy a good joke as well as good beer. He will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him and our thoughts go out to his family and friends at this time.

Sunday 3 January 2016

May concert

The provisional programme is:
Mozart  —"Haffner" Symphony (no. 35)
Canteloube — Songs of the Auvergne Set 3, plus the Bailero from Set 1
Beethoven — Symphony no 4

This should give the first bassoon ample time to practice double tonguing.
